Here is your guide to Canada Day weekend in Deep River on a budget! Something for everyone and most activities are free! Be sure to have some fun in town and support local businesses while you're at it!
6 pm-10 pm ($20- Tickets can be purchased at the Olive Tree or the Yacht and Tennis Club)
You can always count on Maven Catering for a good time! Get some friends together and go swing dancing at the yacht club! Maven Catering will be serving a delicious buffet dinner as always with swing dancing to follow! Don't forget to dress in 50's style and get your dancing shoes on! Dinner will include Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potato, Roasted Vegetables, Caesar Salad and Apple Cinnamon Cake.
8 AM (Free)
Wake up the body with Bodhi Yoga at the waterfront by the Centennial Rock.
Noon (Free-Unity Park Grand Opening)
After your glorious yoga practice, don't forget to fuel the body with a Blendz yummy smoothie, (my personal favorite is the Guilt Free Chocolate Shake) and go for a nice walk by the waterfront. Enjoy the scenic view of the Ottawa River and get ready for the grand opening of the Unity Park at noon followed by free hot dogs and cake!
Afternoon (Free- Beach)
Beat the heat! Go get some ice-cream from Freddie's (my go to is Cherry Bordeaux & Chocolate Truffle on a waffle cone! Double scope all the way!) and head to the beautiful Pine Point beach to enjoy a hot summer day and take a dive in the water to cool down.
2 PM- 5 PM
Go by Deep River Legion for their Beer Garden and BBQ! They will also have entertainment like live bands playing all day!
9:45 PM (Free-Fireworks)
Fireworks to end the night and have a cocktail or two to celebrate Canada's birthday! Mix a fun little "kocktail" with some booch from Laurentian Brew, they even have a list of recipes on their website here for you to mix it at home! Pay the Olive Tree a visit for some booch on tap or 500ml bottles.
